Everyone’s clamoring for the latest Korean beauty product because, well, frankly, those Koreans are pretty dang good at pumping out the coolest and most genius ideas (snail slime masks? BB cream? Air cushion, anyone???) Here are a few more to add to your list, just in time for summer, and at a price we can all afford.
Etude House Strawberry Sponge Hair Rollers ($6)
These adorable hair rollers give you gorgeous loose waves (and unlike conventional hair rollers, make you look cute in the meantime). When your hair is slightly damp, wind a section of your hair around the berry and clip it in. Since these rollers are made of a sponge material, you can go to bed with them on and wake up with beach-worthy waves.
Missha Speedy Solution Anti Trouble Patch ($8)
It’s summertime and our oil glands are on hyperdrive. For particularly pesky breakouts, try this genius solution from Korean brand powerhouse Missha. Each small patch contains salicylic acid and tea tree oil, which reduce redness and speed up the recovery process. And since you’re covering the pimple with the patch, it also protects the blemish from other bacteria. Before you go to bed, just apply one patch per blemish and remove in the morning.
Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub ($11.80)
The best way to avoid breakouts is to keep pores clear of bacteria and excess sebum. This exfoliating scrub cleanser is formulated with baking powder to penetrate pores and really clean them out. It also contains peppermint to soothe inflamed skin. (Just don’t use anything exfoliating on a sunburn!)
Secret Key Snow White Milky Pack ($14.78)
Too much sun? Then you’re probably suffering from hyperpigmentation and sun spots, the number one complaint of Asian women about aging (nope – unlike our Caucasian counterparts, it’s not wrinkles!). This face mask contains niacinamide, which fights hyperpigmentation. (And don’t be fooled by the name – it’s not a skin whitener for lightening overall skin tone.) It also improves skin’s elasticity and gives skin a healthier tone and texture. Try it once or twice a week to give your skincare regimen a boost.
