900th Day of Protest by "Comfort Women"

Today marked the 900th day of protest at the Japanese embassy in Seoul by a group of elderly women who were forced to become sex-slaves for the Japanese army, during World War II.

Since January 8, 1992, the women have protested every Wednesday, no matter how cold or hot it was. After 18 years though, the number of women have dwindled from around 234 to around 87. I hope that the women, who are now between the ages of 80 and 90, can find closure to this situation soon. It’ll be tragic if none of them are left when Japan finally owns up to what they’ve done.
