Who isn’t “Uncontrollably Fond” of Suzy Bae, South Korea’s national sweetheart?
The Miss A singer, who saw her duet with EXO’s Baekhyun, “Dream,” top charts earlier this year, released the soundtrack “Ring My Bell” ahead of the premiere of her new KBS drama.
The series will star Suzy in the role of No Eul, a TV producer who falls in love with arrogant actor and childhood friend Shin Joon-young, played by top talent Kim Woo-bin.
Park Hyun-suk, the director behind K-drama hits like “Spy” and “The Princess’s Man,” will helm the project, and is joined by veteran screenwriter Lee Kyong-hee, most famous for “I’m Sorry, I Love You.”
According to Korean media outlet The Chosun Ilbo, filming for the series wrapped in April.
Suzy’s last K-drama project, “Gu Family Book,” aired in 2013 and earned her a handful of honors, including Outstanding Korean Actress at the 8th Seoul International Drama Awards. Kim, who is returning to television for the first time since “The Heirs,” has been seen on the silver screen in “Twenty” and “The Con Artists.”
The drama will be available next Wednesday to fans stateside on DramaFever, according to the streaming site, home to one of the largest English-subtitled K-drama collections online. Check out the trailer below:
