David Chang Gets New Netflix Series ‘Ugly Delicious’

Chef David Chang has teamed up with Netflix and Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville for a new cooking docu-series entitled “Ugly Delicious,” according to Deadline.

“Food is something we all have in common. It’s an essential part of who we are and how we create connections across cultures,” Chang said, of the idea behind the making of the docu-series. “In that spirit, we brought together some of the people we admire most to make ‘Ugly Delicious’ a collaborative forum, a place where it’s okay to have strong opinions and honest conversations about food.”

Along with the announcement, the docu-series released a preview starring comedian Ali Wong. In it, Wong and Chang sit together in a dim sum restaurant and discuss the pros and cons of using Yelp to judge the quality of a restaurant.

Chang rose to fame as the Michelin-starred chef and founder of the Momofuku restaurant group. He is also a famous TV personality and has appeared on shows such as “Top Chef: All Stars,” and was a guest judge on “MasterChef: Australia.”

Other celebrity guests will also be joining Chang’s series, including Jimmy Kimmel, Steven Yeun and Roy Choi. All episodes of “Ugly Delicious” will be available to stream on Netflix on Feb. 23.
