The Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles is show casing Jorge Pardo’s Bulgogi. (No, it’s not a restaurant, it’s an exhibit.) Pardo’s exhibition, Bulgogi, depicts the Korean immigration and the cultural assimilation in Los Angeles. In other words, the exhibition is about Korean Americans in LA.
Here’s a little preview…
I can’t describe myself as an interpretative artsy person but I definitely caught on to the theme of Bulgogi. After exploring the exhibition, I felt a sense of pride and once again embraced my Korean American culture. I was blown away by how accurately Pardo was able to portray the Korean American story and I encourage people to see Korean Americans through the eyes of a Cuban artist.
