This is an ad after our own heart. The nice Korean dry-cleaning lady shouts, “I AM KOREAN!” (which we hear as “I Am KoreAm”) into the camera in order to promote…Dan Adler?
Who are we kidding – as much as we love yelling out “I Am KoreAm” at random, this ad is wack. (Do people still say that?)
Dan Adler, a Democrat running for an open seat in California’s 36th congressional district in Los Angeles County, released this ad in early May, in an effort to rally votes from 15 percent of the voting population…aka the Asians.
Adler, who’s Jewish, claims he’ll represent every man if elected, but we’re guessing he’s particularly into repping the Koreans, since he’s…married to one. Plus, as a minority (he’s Jewish), he can relate.
“I take it extremely seriously,” Adler told Talking Points Memo. “The idea I’m doing it for a put-on is insulting and disrespectful. I’m doing it exactly the way Thomas Jefferson wanted it done.”
