The trailer for the Hong Kong action film “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” just dropped. Directed by Soi Cheang, the action-packed crime movie will hit select U.S. theaters on Aug. 9.

Based on the best-selling graphic novel “City of Darkness,” the film takes place in Hong Kong’s densely populated Kowloon Walled City, which is known for its history of lawlessness and organized crime.

The trailer boldly states three rules for surviving in the Walled City: Don’t sell drugs, don’t make enemies and don’t cause trouble — all of which the main character Tornado, played by Louis Koo, seems to inevitably break.

A bounty is put on Tornado’s head after he angers a feared gang leader. As people hunt down Tornado, he must fight his way through the brutal city and deal with rising tensions between rival organizations.

In addition to Koo, the cast includes Raymond Lam, Sammo Hung, Philip Ng and Tony Wu Tsz Tung. The film was released in May in China and Hong Kong and premiered out of competition at the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival. The thrilling film became the second-highest-grossing domestic film in Hong Kong of all time.

Check out “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” when it hits select theaters in a few weeks for an adrenaline-filled movie experience.
