From the silver screen to the Broadway stage, Auli‘i Cravalho will make her Broadway debut in “Cabaret” this September.
Cravalho and Adam Lambert will take over the lead roles in “Cabaret” this fall from Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin. Set in 1931 Berlin, British nightclub singer Sally Bowles intends to keep the delirious nightlife going in the Kit Kat Klub as Germany goes through changes. The two will begin performances as the Emcee and Sally Bowles at the August Wilson Theatre starting Sept. 16 for a run through March 30, 2025. Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin currently have the lead roles and will have their last performance on Sept. 14. Cravalho and Lambert are set to play seven out of eight performances per week.
“I’m thrilled to join the long line of talented women who have taken on the iconic ‘Sally Bowles;’ most recently, the woman I watched with notebook and pen in hand, the dynamite Gayle Rankin,” Cravalho said on Playbill. “To join a show with so much history—and such a stellar cast and crew—means it’s quite literally an honor to get my butt kicked each week. Mahalo palena ʻole family, I wouldn’t be making this debut without you.”
