America’s Relationship With The Metric System

The metric system has been recognized for its simplicity because all measurements are measured in units of 10 – this makes it easy to do unit conversions. Although most of the world uses this system, there are three countries that still do not … and the U.S. is one them.

Instead of using millimeters, meters and kilometers, the U.S. uses inches, feet and yards,  meaning it requires users to remember facts like 12 inches equals 1 foot, and 1760 yards equals 1 mile.
