Kevin Kreider is going from the glitz and glamor of Rodeo Drive to fighting crime with the help of ancient mystical powers. Well, WEBTOON style.
The “Bling Empire” Netflix star, who created Asian Lead Love Stories (ALLS) Productions, is taking the leap from non-scripted content to illustration and narrative writing. His debut comic, “Taejin: Legend of the Yang Metal,” is slated to release its first three episodes Thursday, May 23, on the popular webcomic app WEBTOON. The comic follows teenager Taejin Choi after he makes a quick buck off a family heirloom, unknowingly unleashing ancient Yang Metal powers and inadvertently becoming the protector of his city, Philadelphia.
Kreider wasn’t alone in this endeavor, enlisting the help of writer Nina Gee and illustrator Razz to bring the story to fruition. “Creating my own take on the classic superhero has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. I have been a fan of the genre for years, and to now have the opportunity to bring this new series to life with Razz, Nina and our partners at WEBTOON has been thrilling,” Kreider said in a press release. “It was important to me to continue to expand Asian representation in entertainment and to spotlight that our identities are our special superpowers, and I can’t wait for readers to meet Taejin.”
Mark down your calendars for May 23, when the first three episodes of “Taejin: Legend of the Yang Metal” release on WEBTOON!
