Dexter alum C.S. Lee will have a recurring role in the second season of HBO’s True Detective, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The crime drama mini-series follows three homicide detectives as they investigate the murder of a high end city official in California. Lee will play the role of Richard Geldof, a state attorney general, who is described by THR as politically ambitious, polished and intelligent, with a loose moral compass. The series will be led by an A-list cast that includes Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams.
Justin Lin will be also be directing two episodes of after the planned departure of Cary Fukunaga, who not only helmed the show’s entire first season but also won an Emmy for best director of a drama series.
True Detective‘s first season has received critical acclaim for its tightly written script and strong performances. While the show’s creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto has kept mum on details regarding the new season, critics and fans already have high expectations.
Lee is also known for his performances on Chuck, The Sopranos, Criminal Minds and Blue Bloods.
