Celine Song’s ‘Materialists’ in Talks to Feature Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans

Following her critically successful debut, Celine Song is set to continue her relationship with A24 in her newly announced project, a romantic comedy film titled “Materialists.” News surrounding the A-list cast has been circulating, with Dakota Johnson in talks to headline alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal

Song’s second feature, which she will also direct and write, reunites her not only with A24, but with fellow “Past Lives” producers, Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler of Killer Films and David Hinojosa of 2AM. “Materialists” is set to follow a New York City love triangle between a professional matchmaker, the wealthy man she falls for, and the struggling actor-waiter she can’t seem to forget.

“Past Lives,” Song’s directorial debut, was released last year and has since been recognized with a number of accolades, including two Academy Award nominations for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, and a Breakout in Film award at the Unforgettable Gala for Star Greta Lee. In the past year, the film has established Song as an emerging cinematic force, and has also received global recognition as a nominee for the Golden Globes, the Critics Choice Awards, the BAFTAs, and more.

Tune in on March 10, to see if “Past Lives” secures an Academy Award win – and prepare yourself for another touching romance by Song in “Materialists.”
