‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ adds Parvesh Cheena in recurring role

The CW’s Emmy-nominated “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” will be seeing a new face in its second season with Parvesh Cheena, who will play a single dad in a recurring role, according to Deadline.com.

The Indian American actor, familiar to fans of TV shows like “Outsourced” and “Sean Saves the World,” will play Sunil, who befriends Paula (Donna Lynne Champlin) after they discover they share common interests.

The musical romantic comedy-drama, which picked up two Best Actress wins for creator and star Rachel Bloom at the golden Globe and Critics’ Choice awards earlier this year, features one of the only examples of an Asian American love interest within the main cast – in Filipino American actor Vincent Rodriguez III – on television. The show was honored with four Emmy nominations last week.

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriends” will return this fall.
