It’s that time of the year again, Emmy season, when the biggest shows on the small screen from anxiety-inducing drama series like “Succession” to anxiety-inducing comedy series like “The Bear” are recognized for making us laugh, cry and stare at our TVs in complete silence. (Though if you live in Los Angeles, you probably already know that because of the 100s of “For Your Consideration” billboards that populate the city.)
While the Television Academy didn’t offer many surprises in their nominations — with HBO standouts “The White Lotus” and “The Last of Us” dominating this year’s pool — quite a few API stars were also recognized for their work. From Netflix’s limited series “Beef” snatching 13 nominations to Ali Wong making history as the first Asian American woman nominated for Lead Actress in a Limited Series, the 2023 ceremony is slated to be an exciting event for APIs in Hollywood.
