Seen on the fall runways of Michael Kors, models were given rosy cheeks, giving the effect of a newly gained flush of color, as if fresh from a day out on the slopes or on a run. The cheeks and lips are the focal points of this “classif sportif” look, as noted by Shisheido’s Artistic Director in an interview with Teen Vogue.

To achieve this look, have a cleansed and well-moisturized face and after, apply a tinted moisturizer or BB Cream to even out the skin tone.  Apply a cream blush or a highly concentrated red lipstick mixed with some damp foundation onto the cheeks in a chevron shape to achieve bright, lovely-looking cheeks. Keep the eyes simple by adding neutral shadow, a little bit of brightener to the inner corner of the eyes and applying a volumizing mascara to the lashes.

PRODUCT REVIEW – MAC PRO LONGWEAR BLUSH

MAC Pro Longwear Blush – Stay Pretty (Left) and Blush All Day

As an avid fan of cream blush, this was my first time trying out MAC’s Pro Longwear Blush (but don’t worry, this was not my first time using powder blush!). The two shades that we were given, Stay Pretty and Blush All Day, are two very different shades – the former being more of a neutral, with brownish undertones and a little bit of pink, while the latter is a light, almost-like-bubblegum pink. On skin, Stay Pretty has hints of gold, that reflect light very well, acting as a highlighter when placed on the cheekbones. Blush All Day is very pretty, to say the least, and gives cheeks a refreshing flush when applied with a light hand, which I would recommend, in order to avoid any “clown makeup”.  For me personally, I was a bigger fan of the Blush All Day (though not by much).

I tried on both of the blushes, and I can say that I was very impressed. Each applies very naturally, and for me, gave the perfect hint of color onto my cheeks. The blush is blendable and buildable, allowing me to control how concentrated I wanted the color to appear. Best part – the pigments are long-lasting; the blush was able to stay on my cheeks throughout my hectic schedule, which I definitely loved. Overall, I would definitely recommend these products – just be sure to invest in a good blush/angled brush so that you can best control the application of the product.
