Sure, everyone’s enjoyed the “Tiger King” craze, but Mindy Kaling and Netflix have your next binge-worthy show lined up and ready for action.
Meet “Never Have I Ever,” debuting on the streaming platform on April 27. Led by screen newcomer Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, the series is loosely based on Kaling’s adolescent years growing up in suburban Massachusetts. Throughout the first 10 episodes of the series, sophomore Devi (Ramakrishnan) explores her sexuality and heritage amidst the harrowing halls of high school. She’s not alone in her journey, though. Ramona Young (“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”) and Lee Rodriguez (“Grown-ish”) round out the cast list as Devi’s best friends, promising plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments for the trio.
Written by Kaling and Lang Fisher (“The Mindy Project”), “Never Have I Ever” is poised to transport viewers back to the angsty days of teenager-dom. You can watch the trailer here.
