And … he was just okay, dawg.
We’ve been waiting for weeks to see the elusive John Park sing on American Idol. He’s been getting almost zero airtime. Last night, our wish was granted when the top 12 guys performed. Park sang, “God Bless the Child,” which reminds him of his parents, who looked a little bit uncomfortable in the audience.

He definitely has vocal chops but it was the wrong song choice. The judges panned him. Said Simon: “You have got to have an incredible voice to take on that song, and haven’t. And zero emotion. It was a pointless performance.”
John wasn’t great but neither was anyone else last night. Tonight, we’ll see if he gets to stick around. We hope so. We know there’s more talent in him he hasn’t shown.
