Jacob Batalon of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” fame is all set to join Rooster Teeth in its new horror-comedy film called “Blood Fest.” He will be joining other up-and-coming Hollywood talents like Robbie Kay, Nick Rutherford, Tate Donovan and Rooster Teeth’s own Barbara Dunkelman, Deadline reported.
Written and directed by Owen Egerton (who’s got some horror chops of his own, having directed films like “Follow” and “The Axe Murders of Vilisca”), “Blood Fest” is about a titular film festival celebrating the best films in the horror genre that draws in tons of fans. The event’s organizer, however, has other plans for the attendees. It’s up to three teenagers and their wits to survive the horror fest.
Batalon made his Hollywood debut this summer starring as Ned Leeds in the latest “Spider-Man” adaptation from Marvel. He is also slated to appear in the upcoming film adaptation of David Levithan’s novel “Every Day,” currently being directed by Michael Sucsy.
Rooster Teeth is an Austin-based production company known for producing shows such as “RWBY” and “Day 5.” “Blood Fest” will be available on FIRST, Rooster Teeth’s online streaming service.
