Japanese cast to front film ’She’s Just A Shadow’

A Japanese cast comprising Tao Okamoto, Haruka Abe and Japanese punk band Loka lead singer Kihiro will front Adam Sherman’s new crime drama, “She’s Just A Shadow.”

The in-English film, produced in association with a Japan-based company and to be released in both the U.S. and Japan, is set in Tokyo and follows a criminal family entangled in a gang war, according to Deadline.com. Amidst the chaos, a serial killer, as well as a deadly love triangle, runs rampant.

Model-turned-actress Okamoto made her Hollywood acting debut in “The Wolverine,” where she played Hugh Jackman’s love interest. Her success has continued onto roles in the television series “The Man in High Castle” and “Hannibal,” as well as in DC’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Abe, who is English and Japanese, has appeared on the BBC’s “Ideal” and “My Phone Genie,” as well as in the films “47 Ronin” and “Cyberbully.” Kihiro will be making his acting debut through the project.

“Shadow” is the third feature from Sherman, director of “Happiness Runs,” who will write, produce and direct. Filming has already begun in Tokyo.
