K-pop Star Taemin To Star In Amazon Prime J-drama

Heads up, K-pop fans — SHINee’s Taemin is headed for your Amazon Prime Video watch list.

The singer, who as a solo act has also successfully released music in Japan, will star in an Amazon Prime original J-drama, “Final Life: Even If You Disappear Tomorrow,” alongside Japanese actor Shota Matsuda.

Episodes will be available weekly via the streaming site beginning Sept. 8, according to Variety.

Taemin will play a Korean medical student who studied in the U.S. but who suffers memory loss in an experiment, while Matsuda will be a special unit detective.

The drama marks the first leading role for the pop star, who previously appeared in several episodes of the K-drama series “Dating Agency: Cyrano.”

Matsuda is a popular J-drama and film actor with titles like “Liar Game” and “Initiation Love” under his belt.
