The latest video by YouTube darling Kina Grannis is an entertaining combination of soothing folk/pop, stop-motion animation and modified corn starch. The latter is one of the main ingredients in the more than 280,000 Jelly Belly jelly beans utilized by artists to create some amazing animated scenes accompanying the singer’s latest video, “In Your Arms.”
According to the behind-the-scenes video, the Japanese and Caucasian singer spent 22 months working on the video, which features more than 2,400 individual frames. Each frame took approximately 20 minutes to an hour to set up. And since you can’t stick jelly beans on a wall, most of the shots have Grannis suspended over the jelly bean-images on the floor.
