Sang-jin Kim, the character design supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios, drew a Big Hero 6 and Totoro crossover piece that pays tribute to Hayao Miyazaki, the mastermind behind several Studio Ghibli films.
The artwork was first published online last November, but has recently been generating buzz among Ghibli fans in Japan.
Kim has been an active part of Disney for over 15 years and has animated for various Disney films, including Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, Bolt and The Emperor’s New Groove. He was also the character design supervisor for Big Hero 6.
Check out some of his sketches below.

“GoGo, probably the coolest female character in Disney animation,” Kim wrote in the captions.
