The Santa Barbara Museum of Art is hosting the first major American exhibition of photography by Korean artists still living in Korea. “Chaotic Harmony: Contemporary Korean Photography,” will feature 42 large-scale works by 40 photographers.

Some of the photographers focus exclusively on nature: Bae Bien-U has been photographing pine trees around Gyeongju, while Kim DaeSoo has been shooting a Bamboo series for the past ten years, and Yoon Myung Sook chose to photograph the sea.

Yoon JeongMee, on the other hand, features girls with pink and boys with blue, in “The Pink &  Blue Project.”

“Raising my own son and daughter, I found out that colors for children’s objects are classified according to gender. I also noticed that such distinction of colors by gender applies to most children regardless of their ethnicity,” said Yoon to the LA Times.

The exhibit will be on until  September 19th.
