Korean War Photos and Reenactment

As a second generation Korean American, I’ve heard stories about the Korean War from my parents and grandparents. Even with these firsthand accounts, it was always difficult for me to visualize the events that actually occurred during those turbulent times.

Recently, I came across two interesting photo sets that shed a little more light on the matter. The first, by The Big Picture, contains a great collection of photographs which were taken during the war.

The second set, “Re-Enacting the Korean War” by TIME, includes photos taken this month at a historical re-enactment of the Nakdong River battle, which took place in the first year of the 1950-53 Korean War.
