Put comedian Kristina Wong’s new YouTube series at the top of your watch list.
Her new YouTube series, “How To Pick Up Asian Chicks,” puts Asian American women in the spotlight to see how they react to being victim to Asian fetishization via self-published books written by white men on how to pick up Asian women.
“This is a fast way to clap back to something that’s so obviously outdated with primitive ideas of what Asian women are,” Wong said.
The six-episode series, which premiered Wednesday on YouTube, features personalities such as porn star Asa Akira, Amy Hill of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and 10-year-old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons of “Modern Family.”
In support of the series, Wong also created the hashtag #HowNotToPickUpAsianChicks on Twitter.
Launching a web series is like dumping money all over the ground to get people to look at you. #HowNotToPickUpAsianChicks #September6th
