Prior to Lt. Dan Choi being discharged for coming out, Choi was part of a workshop called Camp Courage, that taught supporters of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender rights, communication skills that might allow them to persuade people on the subject of gay marriage.
The 2-day workshop will be held from January 30-31st at Santa Barbara College.
“I’ve learned a lot, and things I didn’t even consider, like the fact that I’m a racial minority as well as the son of an immigrant,” says Choi of Camp Courage. “It’s been a very educational experience, for me, to understand a lot more about our message.”
