South Korean men are increasingly opting to go under the knife in the name of beauty, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In the past few years, a handful of men-only clinics have opened and existing clinics have started in-house centers for male patients.
Kang Jang-seok, who runs Man & Nature in Gangnam, southern Seoul, said he opened his practice in 2005 as a hair-transplant clinic, but soon decided to open a small plastic-surgery clinic next to it to accommodate growing demand from male patients who wanted bigger eyes and more pronounced noses. Two years ago, he moved the clinic into a four-story building fully dedicated to reshaping men.
Given Korea’s image-obsessed culture and recent news that men in South Korea are using makeup, the news seems hardly surprising.
Lee Kyung-hun, a 33-year-old businessman in Seoul, told the Journal he paid $5,400 to have his bulbous nose re-shaped.
“It isn’t something you need to be ashamed of. If you feel stressed with a particular aspect of your look, just go get it fixed,” he told the Journal. “Isn’t it just a matter of course?”
