Marvel and Hulu’s latest protagonist is a monkey on a mission.
No, you didn’t read that wrong—the two studios’ newest adult animated series, “Hit-Monkey,” centers on an anthropomorphic Japanese snow monkey as he tackles Tokyo’s criminal underworld after his tribe is murdered. Oh, yeah, and he’s being mentored along the way by the ghost of an American spy, voiced by “Ted Lasso”’s Jason Sudeikis.
In the first trailer, the unlikely pair take on various Yakuza-adjacent bad guys and supercharged villains while being investigated by detectives played by Ally Maki (“Wrecked”) and Nobi Nakanishi (“The Leviathan Chronicles”). Hit-Monkey also finds a possible ally in Olivia Munn’s Akiko, as he unexpectedly saves her and her Uncle Shinji (voiced by the legendary George Takei).
The series is based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name and is set to premiere on Hulu Nov. 17. Check out the trailer below!
