Original story:
A 19-year-old Los Angeles Koreatown woman went missing over the weekend after she was left for her art class.
Janet Ji Young Choi, 19, left the apartment she shares with her mother, Jessica Lee, around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday and never returned. Choi didn’t show up to her art class that day and also didn’t attend class at Fairfax High School on Monday.
“[Lee] wants her daughter back without any problem,” family friend John Kang told CBS Los Angeles. “Since Saturday, there has been no contact whatsoever. That’s why her mother is really worried.”
Choi is Korean American, 5-foot-3, and around 90 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police are looking for clues by viewing footage from nearby surveillance cameras, according to the Korea Times.
Anyone with information regarding Choi’s whereabouts is asked to contact Det. A. Mercado of the LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800.
