Modern Impressionism by Grace Han (11 paintings)

At first glance, Grace Han’s paintings seem to be inspired by the 19th-century Impressionist art movement of Paris. Most works, however, are very modern in their color depiction and content representation. Her inspiration comes not only from nature, but also from her inner desire to express lines and colors in an abstract manner.

Using consciously planned brush techniques, the Southern California-based artist masterfully uses silhouettes to make her paintings pulsate with emotion. Blurred edges in many of her works make her pieces appear to vibrate with a misty, magical quality.

What I like most about Han’s paintings is how she is unhindered by traditional formulas or ideas of composition. Her works are certainly not afraid to challenge a wide range of artistic movement or style.
