NBC is developing a comedy about a Filipino mail-order bride

NBC is developing a comedy series about a widowed man and father to two pre-teenage daughters who orders a mail-order bride from the Philippines.

The half-hour “Mail Order Family” comes from the showrunners of the network’s “Superstore,” according to Deadline.com.

Loosely based on the real-life family of writer-producer Jackie Clarke, the show will be directed and executive produced by Ruben Fleischer and executive produced by David Bernad.

“Superstore,” which is led by an ensemble cast that includes Nico Santos and Nichole Bloom, kicked off its second season last week.
