The Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League signed veteran forward Richard Park to a one-year contract on Thursday, according to news reports.
The deal, reportedly worth $550,000, brings the 35-year-old back to the team he began his career with in 1994.
Park, a 13-year NHL veteran, spent last season with Geneve Servette of the Swiss National League where he chalked up 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 47 games, according to NHL.com.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound right winger was born in Seoul and moved to Southern California when he was 3 years old. He became only the second Korean-born player in the NHL after Jim Paek.
