Breeze, sound your sirens! Korean boy group RIIZE has released a new single “Combo” in celebration of the band’s one year anniversary. The song is the core of their newest record, “RIIZING: Epilogue,” a repackaged version of their debut mini album, “RIIZING.”
The name RIIZE, pronounced “rise,” is intended to be a metaphor for youthful growth and realizing personal dreams. “Combo” really shows off that intimate message by embracing the bond of an odd combo — as the song puts it, “a loser” and “a weirdo.”
Last year, the seven members, Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee and Anton debuted with the single “Get a Guitar,” which showcased the theme of young, hopeful love. Besides their meaningful music, the group is also known for their clean dance formations and complex choreographies, as best shown in “Siren.”
The group is signed under SM Entertainment, which manages other popular K-pop groups such as aespa, EXO and Red Velvet. Earlier this year, RIIZE went on their first world tour, traveling to major North American cities such as Los Angeles and Mexico City.
