The Korea Republic team defeated the Mexican team, 3:1, on Sunday to secure a place in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup
We know, we know. The South Korean team got defeated in the quarter-finals weeks ago…but this is the FIFA Women’s World Cup (Under-20) we’re talking about. Unfortunately, the team played the home team of Germany today, and lost 5:1, but Korea Republic will be vying for the third place title against Columbia on August 1st, in Bielefeld.
Although there’s been significantly less information/coverage on the U-20 Women’s World Cup, we’re still incredibly proud of the South Korean female players for making it this far.
UPDATE: Korea Republic defeated Columbia on Sunday, 1-0, to take third-place!
