Sandra Oh set to return to TV as ‘American Crime’ guest star

Sandra Oh is returning to ABC, but this time around she won’t be in Dr. Cristina Yang’s scrubs.

The actress will guest star on the third season of John Ridley’s “American Crime,” where she will play Abby Tanaka, a social worker who runs a domestic abuse shelter, according to the network.

The show’s new season will be set in North Carolina, with a focus on social and labor issues and economic divides.

After her 10-season run on “Grey’s Anatomy,” during which she won a Golden Globe and five Emmy nominations, Oh has starred in “Catfight” and “Window Horses.”

Most recently, she was seen in the Asian American theatrical production “Office Hour,” inspired by the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and which explores race, culture and alienation.

“American Crime” is set to return in 2017.
