The cast of Director Benson Lee’s “Seoul Searching” arrived at The Majestic Downtown in Los Angeles on June 24 for a themed ‘80s prom post-premiere party.
The movie, from executive producer Ken Jeong, is set in the ‘80s at a camp for foreign-born teenagers in Seoul. It stars an ensemble cast that includes Justin Chon, Jessika Van, Rosalina Leigh, Cha In-pyo, Crystal Kay and Teo Yoo, among others.
The Los Angeles Film Festival made the film an official selection last year, and it has since picked up awards at the Seattle International Film Festival, the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and CAAMFest.
“Growing up with immigrant parents, I grew up with two different cultures,” Van said at the event. “For someone to finally tell a story that really speaks to my soul was an incredible opportunity.”
“Seoul Searching” is now in theaters for a limited release run.
