South Korean Golfer Sun Young Yoo Wins Sybase Match Play Title.

Another Korean female golfer made her mark in the world of golf this past Sunday at the Sybase Match Play Championship for her first LPGA Tour title.  Sun Young Yoo flew in from Seoul last week hoping to stay at least two days in the tournament; however, she greatly exceeded her goals and took home the first place prize of $375,000 and a Tiffany crystal trophy.

This was quite a surprising victory as Yoo was ranked #40 coming into the tournament and never finished above #12 in a major.  Yet Yoo proved herself as she soared above some of the most promising women players in the LPGA.

Yoo’s victory has added to the globalization of women’s golf as non-American players have won all eight LPGA events this year with 16 Koreans inhabiting the top 40.

Congratulations Yoo Sun Young!
