The Economist recently published a map charting the relative alcohol consumption of people over the age of 15 across the globe.

The results, which came from data collected from 2003-2005 by the World Health Organization, basically proves what we already knew: The Europeans may know how to drink, but the South Koreans know how to hold their own.
But then again, maybe it’s not so great. The WHO also reports that alcohol results in an estimated 2.5 million deaths a year, more than AIDS or tuberculosis. Though I know more than a few ajushis who would argue that they drink for health…
The more people drink alcohol to excess, the more the need for an alcoholism treatment center becomes more pronounced.
