Netflix's Korean brain-survival game returns November 10 with 16 players, a rule change that loosens the prison, and a trailer where "Survivor King" Jang Dongmin is everyone's target.
Five consecutive survival-show wins make you a legend. They also, as the new trailer for The Devil’s Plan: Dead Again makes clear, paint a very large target on your back. Netflix has released the main trailer for the next round of its Korean “brain survival game,” ahead of a worldwide premiere on November 10.
The man wearing that target is Jang Dongmin, billed as the “Survivor King” and holder of an unprecedented record: five straight survival-show victories. When he walks into the game, the temperature changes. According to Netflix, some players are lining up to ally with him, while others are openly gunning for him. Nobody, it seems, is ignoring him.

Who’s back, and who’s new
The roster is 16 players deep. Alongside Jang, the battle-tested veterans are Hong Jinho, Oh Hyunmin, Ha Seok-jin, Jeong Hyun-gyu, Kim Dong-jae, XITSUH, Yurisa, Hyun Kyunglyul and John Park. That’s ten returning names in a field of sixteen, so this is as much a reunion as a new season.
The fresh energy comes from SHINDONG, JAE JAE, Nucksal, Yi Do, Stella Jang and Jung Wonyoung, whom Netflix calls a “hidden powerhouse.” Producer Jung Jong-yeon assembled the group, and Netflix describes it as his most intensely driven lineup yet. Survival-show fans, the streamer notes, have high expectations.
Everyone is competing for a single ultimate championship, on a stage Netflix says has been expanded and packed with new twists.
What the trailer shows
The headline change is to the rules. In the previous two seasons, running out of Pieces meant automatic elimination. Not this time. A player’s fate is now dictated strictly by the outcome of the matches.
That has a knock-on effect. Movement between the Living Area and the Prison Area, which felt restricted in past seasons, is now freer. Netflix says that opens the door to far more aggressive tactical play, and the trailer is built around the promise of high-stakes mind games and psychological warfare.
The cast gets moments of its own. Jung Wonyoung sets his sights on breaking up the legendary “Jang-Oh” alliance. Oh Hyunmin, meanwhile, appears in tears, which Netflix reads as a sign of a ruthless arena where there are no easy targets. And the trailer’s showpiece image is Jang Dongmin clashing directly with Jeong Hyun-gyu, the Season 2 champion. A five-time winner against the reigning memory of the last title: it’s the kind of pairing a trailer editor dreams about.
The title of Netflix’s announcement says it all: “No Weaklinks,” and “Everyone’s a Predator.” The streamer promises shifting dynamics among the veterans and a “whirlwind of psychological suspense.”
A Korean format with global reach
Netflix files the series under Global South Korea, and it treats the “brain survival game” as a distinctly Korean format, one with its own stars, its own record-holders and its own fan base. The casting shows it. Jang’s five-win streak is the main selling point, and the veterans are introduced by their survival-show credentials.
The premiere date is global, too. The Devil’s Plan: Dead Again lands worldwide on November 10, rather than rolling out market by market. A format that began with a Korean cast is being launched everywhere at once, with a trailer that relies on faces, alliances and showdowns more than explanation.
For anyone who followed the first two seasons, the thing to watch is the Pieces rule: with elimination tied only to match results, the old safety nets and traps work differently. For everyone else, the pitch is simpler. Sixteen players, one title, and a champion everyone wants to take down.
The Devil’s Plan: Dead Again premieres November 10, only on Netflix.
