Come on, grab your friends! The beloved animated Cartoon Network series “Adventure Time” is back with three new projects.

An “Adventure Time” movie is in development, announced June 12 in Warner Bros. Animation’s Studio Focus presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Although few details about the plot or cast have been released, a robust creative team, including Rebecca Sugar (creator of “Steven Universe”), Patrick McHale (co-creator of “Over the Garden Wall”), and Adam Muto (showrunner of “Adventure Time”), are working on the project.

Two new spinoff series are also in the works. Cartoon Network Studios already greenlit “Adventure Time: Side Quests,” a children’s show about a younger version of the character Finn with his best friend, Jake the Dog. Each episode will be stand-alone with less overarching lore and narrative. Audiences should also expect to see younger versions of their favorite characters from the franchise.

“Adventure Time: Heyo BMO” is the other series in development, intended for preschool audiences. The show will follow the adorable humanoid video game console BMO, making new friends and going on adventures. Muto along with Adventure Time storyboard artist Ashlyn Anstee are attached to the project.

No release dates have been announced, but the three new “Adventure Time” properties are a promising return to the Land of Ooo.
