Eugene Lee Yang, one of Buzzfeed’s most recognizable faces, was awarded Male Breakout Star of the Year at Kore’s 2015 Unforgettable Gala.
Yang, a Korean American, said during his acceptance speech that the reason for his success has to do with constant exposure through videos shared via social media. The bottom line is to get more Asians behind and in front of cameras, he said. Yang believes it’s already happening.
“I’m so honored and happy that I can’t just stand up here and say, ‘God, I wish I could change so much about the industry,’” Yang said. “I can say that we are changing the industry, and that I am only excited and assured to see what is going to happen in the next few years and how I’m going to be inspired by it.”
