If you were asked to change one thing about your body, what would you say? Would you want to lose those stretch marks you picked up from pregnancy? Or maybe you’d like to lose the 15 pounds you picked up from freshman year? What about your shoulders, hair, feet, smile, eye shape, butt and muscles? By the time you’ve thought about every little physical trait you’d like to improve, you may be wondering if it’s even possible for you to choose just one thing to change.
Unfortunately, this desire to change our body is quite common for many of us. After all, we’re constantly surrounded by media telling us the “ideal” way to look and the hundred ways we aren’t the ideal.
So that begs the question: When did we begin living in a world of counting flaws? We couldn’t have been born this way, right?
JubileeProject went ahead and conducted an experiment to find out. They gathered 50 people– both children and adults– and asked them what they would like to change about their body. The results? Children and adults have drastically different responses.
The description to the video states, “We hope that this video will inspire you to be more comfortable and confident in yourself. Beauty is not about what you don’t have, but about being comfortable in your own skin.”
The official website describes Jubilee Project as “a 501c3 that exists to tell stories that inspire change. We make short films, PSAs and documentaries in collaboration with non-profits to increase awareness and inspire action. Our vision is to produce entertaining content that will empower, enable, and inspire others to do good as well.” Learn more about them here.
