Fujiwara joined the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) in 1972, the organization that would become the WWE . He stayed with it until 1996. His bio on the organization’s website calls him “one of the great rule-breakers in WWE.”
Fujiwara was famous for portraying a villain – his signature move involved throwing bags of salt on his opponents to blind them. As a wrestler, he captured five tag-team championships, three with Professor Toru Tanaka and two with Mr. Saito.
When his in-ring career ended, he became one of the organization’s more recognizable managers. He wore a tuxedo and top hat and carried around a cane, which he would use to hit unexpecting wrestlers when the referee’s weren’t looking.
For fans and fellow wrestlers, Mr. Fuji will be remembered for the personality he brought on and off stage.
