The R&B-inspired girl group, XG (Xtraordinary Girls), has released their 4th single, “WINTER WITHOUT YOU.” The single depicts the distinct feelings of longing and nostalgia that arise when one is apart from their loved ones over the holidays. It’s certainly difficult celebrating holidays alone, and XG captures that hardship perfectly with this catchy tune.
A contrast to XG’s usual style, the single features electric keyboards and distinctive vocal effects that highlight each of the 7 members: Jurin, Chisa, Cocona, Hinata, Maya, Juria and Harvey. XG is certainly a group to watch—the only Japanese artists to be featured on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Songs of 2023 and ELLE’s Best Songs of 2023. With a 2024 World Tour in the works, XG will continue to make strides, but for now, you can enjoy their holiday single at midnight (in each time zone, respectively) on Dec. 8.
