Pre-Fall 2016 designer collections have been released! Take a peek at some of the coming trends and obsess over which styles you want to upgrade your closet with and the ones that you may prefer to skip altogether.
1. Wide-Leg Trousers And Long Lines
Opening Ceremony and Jason Wu pushed themes of power and masculine tailoring along with a dark and wintry palette for their women’s collections. Long trench coats, double breasted details, and wide-leg trousers are found throughout their recent lookbooks. Ultra skinny bottoms seem to have run its course with these two designers, so if you were never a fan of anything super tight, you may fall in love with these flowing cuts!
2. Varsity And Bomber Style Jackets
From solitary colors to funky embroidered palm trees, varsity and bomber style jackets seem to be a favorite transitional jacket. 3.1 Phillip Lim took a sporty approach to utility tones, mixing the two into an eclectic collection. On the other hand, Alexander Wang plays the trend up more with animal prints and cool embroidery. Either way, we feel like we’d easily fit into the stylish streets of Seoul wearing any of their pre-fall pieces.
3. All-Over Prints And Patterns
Move aside monotone! All-over prints and patterns are popping up everywhere on the runway and two design houses embraced the trend fully. Issey Miyake’s work feels like an otherworldly, celestial painting, while Humberto Leon and Carol Lim for Kenzo (also the founders of Opening Ceremony) opted for a more traditional stance with their Asian inspired flower prints and kimono-like patterns.
