88rising is finally bringing its talents — followed by millions of viewers around the world — to the people. The Asian American media company will debut its Head in the Clouds Music and Arts Festival on Sept. 22 at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.
The festival features an all-star lineup including labelmates and viral sensations Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers, and Niki. Special guests include South Korean R&B superstar Zion.T, up-and-coming rapper Yung Bans and Korean American rapper Dumbfoundead.
To round off the lineup, the festival will host the U.S. debut of established Japanese rapper KOHH, as well as the Los Angeles debut of LAFF TRAX, a collaborative project between chillwave pioneer Toro y Moi and renowned producer Nosaj Thing.
“Having our own music festival in L.A. is a dream come true and something we have always worked toward. 88rising means ‘double happiness’ and that’s what we intend to bring to everyone who experiences this festival with us,” 88rising CEO Sean Miyashiro said in a statement.
The festival kicks off the 88 Degrees & Rising Tour, which hits 16 cities through the end of October with stops in Toronto, New York City and Atlanta.
