Alcoholic Boba? BOBA 7 Is LA’s Hot Spot for Boba Booze

Tucked away in the back of a little Thai restaurant in LA lies BOBA 7, a boba shop that will revolutionize the way we see boba forever. To anyone 21 and over, let me introduce you to alcoholic boba. Yup, you read correctly. A dangerously delicious idea that originated in downtown Los Angeles, BOBA 7 has answered the cries of our fun-loving generation by infusing two Asian American staples, boba and alcohol.

Back in 2012, USC graduate Elton Keung had the brilliant idea of creating the first alcoholic boba establishment in Los Angeles. It began with a simple pop up shop and three years later, Boba 7 has now become one of the hottest boba spots in Los Angeles due to their inventive and well crafted drinks. They have many unique options to choose from, such as their signature Green Tea Heineken, Bobagasm and Barackbobama. Aside from their punny names, BOBA 7 also offers specialty drinks that are non alcoholic such as their famous Horchata milk tea. Check out some of their fan favorites below.

BOBAGASM

The Bobagasm was the original alcoholic boba drink. With a blend of Irish cream, Kahlua and honey boba, this drink is nothing short of decadent and will be sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

While boba with a Heineken might not sound that refreshing, Elton Keung assures us that they devised a way to balance out the simple taste of beer with the sweetness of honey boba. Together it blends into a perfect harmony of ingredients.

With adults in America working 9 to 5 jobs regularly, a trip to happy hour is no longer just a treat– it’s a necessity. What better way to start the weekend or a night out than with “grown up boba.” So next time, if you are ever in Los Angeles, listen to this sign below and leave your stress at the door and enjoy a nice boba drink. Who knows? Boba booze might become the next big trend! But always remember to be safe, and never drink (boba) and drive.
