Should Hillary Clinton win the presidency in November, her long-time associate and Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden will have a key role in helping her transition into the seat of power.
Tanden, an Indian American whose history with the Clintons goes back to Hillary Clinton’s time as First Lady, has also acted as policy director for both the presidential campaigns of Clinton and Barack Obama. Her involvement in politics began with the presidential campaign of Democratic Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis in 1988.
She is among four co-chairs appointed to head the Clinton-Kaine Transition Project, which would ensure the “smooth transition of power” by aiding with filling prominent senior positions in a Clinton administration.
Former National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Harvard University/’s Director of the Institute of Politics Maggie Williams join Tanden as co-chairs.
