The Korean city of Pyeongchang has just one more day of an anxious wait to discover whether it will celebrate becoming host of the 2018 Winter Olympics or rue being pipped at the post for the third time in a row.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will decide on the first day of its annual session on Wednesday whether to award the Games to Pyeongchang or to one of its two European rivals, Annecy of France or Germany’s Munich.

Korean American Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas made history by eating 40 hot dogs in 10 minutes, beating out her past main rival, Juliet Lee (who ate 29 hot dogs) and winning $10,000 and the “pink belt.”

A school that ordered a female student to remove her skirt while she was walking to school because it was too short offered the incredible explanation that “this is how our school normally guides our students,” vastly increasing the level of criticism of this as a human rights violation.

About 80 paintings by artists Hyunju Lee and husband Won Bong Choi adorn the walls of the shop they operate just south of Zaxby’s on Taylor Road. The two met at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.
After working for a few years, Lee became a mother of two children. Once the children grew she wanted to fulfill her desire to run a coffee shop that also showcased and sold art.

His father reluctantly told him that the family’s visas had expired after nine years of legal residence in the United States as a result of the family’s sponsor mishandling their renewal application.
Cho did not tell anyone when he first found out about his immigration status. At the time, he had never heard of an undocumented Asian student speaking out on immigration.
7 Hattiesburg women charged with prostitution

Seven Hattiesburg women remain in the Lamar County Jail this afternoon on prostitution charges following a Friday night raid of three businesses.
Three of the women, Eun Hee Lee, 37; Li Sik Park, 47; and Kwi Son Range, 61; were arrested at King Spa, 4400 Hardy St., Suite B, Hattiesburg. Three others, Un Suk Molloy, 54; Chom N. Moran, 62; and Chom Mi Bradley, 46; were arrested at Sun Spa, 47 Lakewood Drive, Hattiesburg.
