Hyuna’s new music video “Bubble Pop” has already topped charts and gotten more than six million views on YouTube after just one week.
Many fans, mostly comprised of men, are raving that “Hyuna is amazing” and “mesmerizing,” but a growing number of people are becoming dissatisfied with the idol’s new work. No one can question that K-pop definitely has and still is on the rise in the United States. However, how does the decisions of these singers affect views of Korean identity?
Is Hyuna’s hot image portraying Koreans in the right way? Or is she just buying into the idea that sex sells?
